I lead Praxis 23 in Vienna and work as an emergency physician. My career began in software development and technical project management. Today, I draw on that experience and my management training to run my practice and develop tools for its day-to-day work.
General practice is the focus of my work. Clinical decisions also call for an understanding of a patient’s circumstances. What is familiar to me as a doctor is not necessarily routine for the person in front of me.
After being awarded a new public health insurance practice contract in 2023, I established Praxis 23 in Atzgersdorf and opened it in April 2024. As its owner and lead physician, I am responsible for both patient care and the running of the practice.
Practice & patient information
I regularly work as an emergency physician with the Samariterbund, including at sporting events and large public gatherings. I also draw on experience in acute care gained at the primary acute care outpatient unit at Klinik Donaustadt and in the out-of-hours medical service.
In my accredited training practice, I supervise doctors during the community-based stage of their postgraduate training, as well as medical students in their final clinical year (KPJ). This involves not only clinical knowledge, but also explaining the reasoning behind decisions in individual cases. I take the same practical approach in my talks.
From 2021 to 2023, I held medical leadership responsibilities at the Austria Center Vienna vaccination centre. I coordinated medical teams, made clinical decisions during day-to-day operations and coordinated with other professional groups and decision-makers. This gave me the opportunity to apply my management training directly in a healthcare setting.
In my own practice, I also plan workflows around the situations we encounter most often. My aim is to create conditions in which the team can work well and clinical decisions receive the attention they need. Three priorities guide that approach:
Working through a problem and turning it into a working program has interested me since my first coding projects. That experience is now directly useful in my practice: when existing software reaches its limits, I can develop an extension myself.
I developed TMD DataPilot as an extension for zollsoft’s tomedo practice management software. It presents practice metrics and helps identify errors before health insurance claims are submitted.
DataPilot complements existing practice management software rather than replacing it. It is designed to support faster, better-informed decisions about running a practice.
Explore the project at lifebloom.oneAt CNS-Solutions, I worked in software development and project management, including on applications for railway emergency management. I later managed technical projects at Austro Control in software development and meteorology.
When setting up my practice, this knowledge was useful beyond writing software: assessing hardware and software requirements, choosing systems and understanding their limitations. This experience also helps me work with technology providers: I can define requirements precisely and understand their technical language.
Contributing to research and medical training allows me to support the profession beyond my own clinical work. I am particularly interested in how research findings are put into practice.
Research into metabolic changes in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) was a focus of my medical thesis. My later involvement in studies on COVID-19 vaccination arose through my work with the Samariterbund.

It focuses on supervised postgraduate medical training in community-based practices, outside hospital. In this role, I help shape the framework for this stage of training, which I also supervise directly in my own accredited practice.
